Competition Overview
First held in 2017, the ICDL Asia Digital Challenge has attracted over 52,000 students from 800+ institutions across 18 countries. The challenge focuses on practical digital skills that prepare students for higher studies and the global digital economy.
Student Categories:
- Primary: Recommended age 9 – 12 years old
- Secondary: Recommended age 13 – 17 years old
- Tertiary: Recommended age 18 – 25 years old
Key Information
Competition Route
From school-level selection to represent Malaysia on the international stage.
Round 1: Preliminary Round
Complete the entry module test (Application Essentials for Primary/Secondary, Spreadsheets for Tertiary). Test is online, 45 minutes, passing score 75%. Registered by Danawa Education.
Conducted locally by 12 June 2026Round 2: National Round
The top 2 participants per track from each school represent their institution in the National Round. Tests are invigilated remotely by ICDL Asia on fixed dates (9 or 14 July). No additional fees.
Fixed schedule: July 2026Round 3: Grand Final
National winners complete a specialized offline project determined by key corporate sponsors. Submissions are reviewed by industry and academic experts. Prizes include Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies.

Students from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions can register interest through Danawa Education. Previous Grand Finalists are not eligible.
